Wyvern and Serket (symbol) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Wyvern and Serket (symbol)
The Wyvern and Serket is a heraldic symbol of the Mohr family where you see a back facing Wyvern (a type of dragon) and a downward facing Serket (a mythical scorpion creature) with interlocked tails. The two characters are a type of dragonic creature with four fingered wings and an arrow shaped tail, commonly known as a wyvern, and a giant armored scorpion creature, sometimes called a serket. The whole of the symbol is usually black and gold with a crimson highlights or accents. As in many other heraldic symbolism the positions of the symbols is just as important as the symbols themselves. For instance wyverns often represent strength, viciousness, envy, and tyranny, but seeing it from a dorsal view makes it still a symbol of strength, but it now shows the rejection of tyranny and envy. As for the scorpion, when facing upward it represents death, poison, and violence, but when it faces down it symbolizes protection against violence or a healer of the sick and injured. Even the parallels of claws to talons and the fingers of the wing to the legs of the scorpion. The symbol has inspired an oath, ''"At my best I will fly through the sky with the dragons of Nirvana and at my lowest I will crawl through the mud with the scorpions of Tartarus, but I always keep moving through to what is next, with an axe in each hand and the will to fight on."''
